The best way for dad to venture into Catalina’s interior is to first stop by the Catalina Island Conservancy’s Trailhead to obtain your hiking permits and talk to specialist to steer you towards the right trail.

Dine: After a great hike head to Toyon Grill. Toyon Grill is located above the Trailhead Visitor Center and boast a delicious menu of hyper local, sustainable fare celebrating the best of Catalina Island. The patio seating offers sweeping views of Avalon Harbor.

Fishing Pro Dad

Play: Create a fish tale that you will both always remember. Catalina attracts a wide range of marine life including white sea bass, marlin and yellowtail. You can either charter a boat with or without a guide, depending on your familiarity with the sea.

Dine: Reminisce about your great fishing adventure over some delicious seafood.  The NDMK Fish House takes “locally sourced” to the next level. Play: If dad’s ideal vacation is relaxing beachside, the Island has a private beach called Descanso Beach Club that rents cabanas and lounge chairs. As one of the few places you can drink on the beach, dad can have a beer in his hand with his toes in the sand.

Dine: Grab a bit to eat at Catalina’s only beachside restaurant bar, Descanso Beach Club. It serves delicious food and specialty cocktails that can be delivered right to your cabana. Try the Buffalo Milk for an authentic Catalina experience.
