Avalon Events

Catalina Island is kicking off Fourth of July weekend on Wednesday, July 3 with a special performance by the USC Marching Band. From 3 pm to 4pm, head to the Wrigley stage for a live performance by the USC Trojans.

On Thursday, July 4, there are numerous events to take part in throughout the day in Avalon. All day long, the Wrigley Stage will be hosting local bands for live music to sing along to. Get dressed up in your most patriotic attire to celebrate Independence Day.

Locals and visitors go all out every year with decorations to show their enthusiasm. Fourth of July isn’t fit without a festive parade or two! The golf cart and dinghy parade are annual traditions to Catalina Island’s Fourth of July celebrations. Stand along the streets of Avalon as the decorative golf carts make their way through town at 1pm. The dinghy parade will begin shortly after at 3:30pm so make sure to find a spot on the shoreline and watch the dinghies go by.

The Catalina Island Museum for Art & History will be holding a special Fourth of July event from 3:30pm to 6pm. The USC Trojan Marching Band will also be joining for a live performance at 4:30pm and a live auction for a once-in-a-lifetime Trojan experience. Your tickets will include entry and a classic American buffet.

Last but not least, a fireworks show ties the knot on the annual Fourth of July festivities on Catalina Island. From the beaches or your hotel, watch the fireworks light up the sky from your favorite spot in Avalon at 9pm. For a unique perspective, board the Cyclone boat instead and be right on the water in the middle of the action.

Two Harbors Events

Continuing the Fourth of July celebration, Two Harbors will hold events on Saturday, July 6 to honor Independence Day. Hop on the Cyclone boat if you are coming from Avalon or the Catalina Express from the San Pedro terminal to indulge in the activities on Two Harbors.a group of people riding on the back of a truck

The 18th annual dinghy parade will travel through the coves of the West End at the Isthmus Cove Pier. Cheer on the most decorated, patriotic dinghies in Two Harbors that will begin at 2pm.

Grab a bite to eat or a beverage from the Harbor Reef restaurant before setting up a spot to witness the annual fireworks spectacular. Lounge on a chair or blanket in Two Harbors as the bright colors shine in the air over Isthmus Cove. The firework show will begin at dark around 9pm.
