Catalina Island is getting spooky with Halloween just around the corner! Trick or treat on your getaway with thrilling events and activities to add to your itinerary this October.

Escape Room

Escape on a live-action adventure to uncover the next mystery on the Catalina Pirate Challenge at the Escape Room Catalina. You’ll solve clues in order to reveal secret passages that will put your mind to the test. Work as a team to race against the clock and escape the ship in under an hour. Escape Room Catalina welcomes people of all ages and includes prizes and photos once the challenge is won.

Haunted Catalina

Ring in the Halloween spirit on the Haunted Catalina Ghost Tour to learn all about the spooky stories that have been told in Avalon. Haunted Catalina is a tour that begins at the Green Pleasure Pier and is a one-hour leisurely walk around Avalon to tell the history behind its most iconic landmarks. A local historian will guide you through the many stories of mysterious encounters on Catalina Island.

Halloween Events

Experience a unique pumpkin patch on the beach at Avalon’s Fall Carnival on October 20th from 5pm to 8pm on Crescent Avenue. Enjoy fall festivities with carnival inspired games, indulging in savory food and sweet goodies, performances on the Wrigley Stage and a family photo in the pumpkin patch! The funds made from the carnival will support Avalon Schools and local non-profits.

Join ghouls and ghosts at Avalon’s Halloween Parade & Zombie Party that occurs every year on Halloween from 4:30pm to 6pm. The Halloween Parade begins line-up at Knabe Park and will head down Crescent Avenue to Zombie Park, also known as Avalon Kid’s Park. The Zombie Party includes a jump house, haunted playground, candy and so much more Halloween fun! The Halloween Parade & Zombie Party is followed by a night of trick or treating around Avalon.

On November 1st, the Catalina Museum for Art & History is hosting the 5th Annual Dia de Los Muertos Family Festival from 6pm to 9pm! The museum celebrates the Mexican tradition of honoring family and friends who are no longer with us. The evening will consist of art projects for the kids, a tequila tasting for the adults, local food vendors, live music and special performances. Guests are also invited to set up ofrendas/altars or artists can submit their Dia de Los Muertos artwork for an opportunity to win a cash prize. Eat, drink and create to celebrate this year’s Dia de Los Muertos Family Festival on Catalina Island!
